No luck...it's still showing the stock game medals. And I've tried doing this with two different medal fix mods for the stock game.
ok, that's one issue: "The only Ubisoft folder I found on my computer was located in the Program Files (x86) folder."

re-install SH4 in a different folder than one controlled by the Windows OS.
try something like C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 4\

then install JSGME and then your mods.

so, it's a neat thing but you wouldnt want to use most of the hacks.
Really liking this mod. Haven't had ANY gameplay issues at all, other than more enjoyment. I was REAL curious about what a German sub with ALL the options on it would be like. One of the options is "Editor Game Resources" which can give you HUGE amounts of credits. With it, I was able to equip a sub with the top line of every option. Doing so, I was able to earn the Iron Cross with Swords on my first mission.
Some of the mods work differently, depending on if you are an American or German player. For instance, I couldn't get unlimited deck gun ammo on German sub. But DID get unlimited torpedoes, and I am using the best torpedo available. On the American sub, I was able to have unlimited deck gun ammo and instant reload. Geez...firing the deck gun like a machinegun was REAL tempting.

I did notice that some options blanked out others, so there wouldn't be a conflict or hang-up. Pretty cool of the creator to do that. All-in-all I give this mod two thumbs up.

Found SH4 in the Steam folder in the 'x86' folder. Tried installing it in a different folder, but Steam won't let me pick a different one. Did the same routine with the Steam folder version...JSGME, etc., etc. Nothing.

I've about had it with this BS. Nothing I'm doing is working. And this is my THIRD time reinstalling the game.

yeah, Steam complicates things.

i was hoping that one of the guys who is more adept working with Steam than i am would jump in here and offer a path to success for you.

give it a another day or so before you give up.

Here's how I do it on both 7 and now win10 1. Install wolves of the pacific and the uboat missions from steam in Steamlibrary folder(Not the default C:windows programs!) or install on another drive other than C:
2. NEVER TOUCH THE ORIGINAL INSTALLATION AGAIN!!!!!
3. Copy everything from your steamfolder>steamapps>common>Silent Hunter wolves of the Pacific file.
4. Paste all to a new folder named for the mod you are going to install( I use a different drive than C: for the new folder since my C: is fairly small)
5. Put JSGME in the folder and run it, it will put a subfolder called mods in your folder you pasted everything into
6. Put Large Address Aware in your folder you pasted everything into and run it, make sure it's pointing to the SH4.exe in your new folder and not the original install.
7. Put Multish4 v 1.5 in the folder you pasted everything into, run it and use three letters, like for Fall of the rising sun, I use FOR. (this keeps saves seperate from other saves. The default save is SH4 in documents folder, you don;t want different mods going to the same save folder) Make sure it's pointed to the sh4.exe in your new folder and not the original install
8. Download which ever mod you want for the new named folder, follow the mods instructions!
9. Run JSGME and activate the mod.
10. Make a shortcut from your SH4.exe in the folder you pasted everything into and rename it for the mod.

Do all the above from 3. on down for every mod you want to install using the original install which remains untouched as the template . I keep separate folders for every mod I have, there's only one or two I have any crashes and it's probably because I missed something during the install of the mod. The reason not to ever touch the original install is if you mess up the installation of a mod, you just wipe the new folder you created and the corresponding save in the documents folder rather than have to wipe everything, and download the original steam installation! A lesson I learned numerous times and numerous redownloading and installing!!!!!!! DOOOOOOOH.

I have OM Darkwaters,FOTRS,We Dive at Dawn,TMO, TMOwTW, Berbster, IJN Jyunsen B mod, OM Itailian campaign 2.0 and a couple other mods. Of those I have trouble with maybe 3 occasionally. Key for me was don't install original install in the default location, make new folders for every mod using the untouched original install as a copy and paste. Yes the method I chose uses up more space than just plunking every new mod into the mod folder but I seem to have less problems and I just click on the shortcut to play another mod. Hope this helps, Most of what I learned was from the old salts here and with a little trial and error, okay a lot of trial and error and a lot of completely start overs until I realized, never touch the original install!. wooo that was a long post.

Can't even find the 'Steamlibrary' folder on my C Drive.

Steam won't let me install it anywhere else. I try and put it to where it installs elsewhere, but it still reads as installing in the default Windows programs.

As I'm on a laptop, installing on another drive is also not an option.

Try doing what they say here Moving a Steam Installation and Games from the Steam Support knowledge base. Depending upon how many Steam games you have, it might take a bit to move it all outside of the Program Files folder. When you have only the C: drive available, you only have one Steam Library folder, and it is "C:\Program Files (x86) \Steam \SteamApps \Common", and all your games are below that Common folder, similar to what 1Patriotofmany shows in his #3. As you install Steam, it will give you a choice for the path to be used for the install. I usually edit to "C:\Games", and then the install app itself makes it "C: \Steam \SteamApps \Common \Wolves of the Pacific". The main components of Steam itself still end up in Program Files (x86), but the Steam Library is now in the Games folder.

1) I tried following what the video said step-by-step. Created the new folder and everything, then tried to select it on Steam settings. The folder I created didn't even appear in the options.

Did you delete the SH4 folder in your documents when you reinstalled the game? Do that and restart computer. You do understand the mod you want to use needs to be activated within JSGME, correct? Let's just worry about getting it running rather than trying to move it right now.

You can move it later manually by following #3 on down in the steps I posted previously, then you start the game by using the shortcut you made to the folder rather than the steam launcher.

If you want to go scorched earth, uninstall steam and delete the SH4 in your documents, then reinstall steam. It will give you the option to install steam elsewhere.
