Well I've never enjoyed killing for sport, heck, I don't even like killing spiders and insects, so it disgusts me on the surface but I know this needs to be done in some manner. It's mostly that I respect life as something special no matter what the form.

What if you plan on eating it though? I agree that killing something for "sport" is bad but if you plan on eating it it's ok IMO.

Using a minigun for "hunting" already is perverse.
But the situation as to be seen in the video does not give me the impression that it was hunting or a farmer fighting off a hog plague off his land. It seems to me that the animals deliberately were released in a killing field that was prepared, fenced and the minigun set up, so that the shooter could take enjoyment form just going berserk and mowing them down. I accept hunting for eating and clothing (if the hunting is properly done and no dilettante at work), and to fight off an animal plague - with trophy hunting I already have problems, I do not accept it. But massacring animals for entertainment - that is sick. You could as well bind a buck to a tree and then start lobbing grenades on him. BTW, I accept the need to hunt hogs in certain areas, like in Berlin (there they just fight an uphill battle against lobby groups preventing to hunt them more determined. But note that almost always where humans claim they must "regulate" nature, the described messy situation arises from man having messed up nature before and damaging its "checks and balances" ![]() As far as wild pigs are concerned, I like them. Very intelligent and social animals, and although they can be dangerous due to their robustness and viciousness (and teeth ![]() Sterilization, maybe poisoned lures if that can be done without threatening other animals, rigid hunting, and draconic financial penalties for idiots still feeding them (yes, you read that right), that would be the things to do. And all three options get bitterly fought against by many Berlin citizens and even worse: the legal situation and the bureaucracy themselves. But okay, not my business, my last contacts living in Berlin have fled the city already years ago. That was not the pig's fault, however.

That is true. I know I said that this could help me (although it's impossible given the circumstances)....but that's something I just don't do. Unless you're going to eat it...don't shoot it. It's a waste.
I hate poachers so much. They ruin the hunting in my area and they're killing just for fun... ![]()

Hogs are also a problem here.
Shooting one or two to keep numbers to an acceptable level is not wrong. But using a minigun, it says two things: -LOOK AT ME, THE BADASS -it's smaller than a peanut (you know what) |
