Someone in this forum long ago said (I want to make sure nobody thinks I came up with it myself):

They got it wrong. It's not 72 virgins. It's one 72-year-old virgin.

What ever burial he got the Seals would not have been present they where probably back at base sleeping by that point. They said that they prepped his body in the traditional Muslim manor. That would actually be a huge insult because a mujahid(read my previous post about the whole jihad thing) dies they are not buried in the traditional manor though by burying Bin Laden at sea like they did they in effect deny that he was ever a mujahid one heck of a blow.

It was the best choice really because a body becomes a shrine to some and in modern times even a photo can become a shrine or symbol. For that reason alone it makes perfect sense to keep the death photos secret at least for some time.

Honestly if a person has been shot in the face or head by a 5.56mm bullet or two there is not very much to see and you usually can not tell who the person was beyond perhaps their race becuase most of their facial tissue will be destroyed and their head will be split open .So the photos would not actually satisfy anyone.Any doubters would claim that it was fake.

Right they could take a photo of a dead cartel solider in the streets of Juarez and it could be Bin Laden.

When has the US ever shown a dead leader anyway? Besides Saddam Hussein and his sons they showed him only to the Iraqis because they needed to see that he really was dead other wise they would not have known when to start a brutal civil war against each other.
