Definitely not buying. My computer is my computer and will remain my computer if I have to write all my own software. Even the SecuRom in the Direct 2 Drive SH4UBM is invasive beyond its rights and all it does is scan your running processes for a list of Sony's prohibited software, including the completely benign and innocent Microsoft Process Explorer, just because it was written by the man who exposed Sony's infamous rootkit, costing Sony a huge sum of money.

So what does Ubi do? It jumps completely over to the dark side, confirming what we already knew. Ubi does not respect its customers. In fact, they don't have any customers, only criminals who deserve to be punished.

No thanks, Ubi. I live in a world of limitless possibilities, not in a concentration camp. Lacking the ability to enforce your concentration camp, you are destined to be its only occupant, except for those defrauded by the assumption that they are buying some kind of a fun game. God help them. But you, Ubi, are beyond even His help if you don't buy a couple of vowels. Looks like Sony and Apple have a new partner in the Evil Empire. Rest in pieces, all of you. Not one penny for the Evil Empire.

Minimap a bit annoying, seems to pop up now and then, probably a system to it, but would ditch it.

Where is depth under keel? Time of day (clock)? ok clock is O. Just local time or GMT? Where is compass or course indicator? Date? Have to go to Cap's log it seems.

Where is resume course?

where is close/open tube?

Occasional auto-save only takes a second, but is a bit of a nuisance. Can it be turned off?

Water looks terrific. Ditto boat bow wave, wake, exhaust.

Map is excellent. But no KM grid refs?

Recharging batteries is automatic? Can't deliberately not recharge if preferred?
No, I'm definitely not buying it.

Btw, none of the above was mentioned by Neal in his preview.

That's because it was not a review of the final game. Preview can't cover everything.

Looks like we're gonna lose a couple of members here (SH5 forum) for the next days/weeks/years.

Yeah! and I haven't help those who are continuously jumping to conclusions and base their opinions on conjectures rather than wait for a real review before making a decision.

I honestly haven't decided yet. Elements of it I've warmed towards, others I've cooled on. I've got a hot campaign in War in The Pacific going on just now, plus a good game of Stalker:COP. I certainly won't be buying it on release day, anyway, not unless I'm actually walking past a shop with 35 quid in my pocket and see it through the window.

If I do buy it it'll probably be once a couple of patches have come out. I simply cannot be bothered participating in the release day bug-fest once again.

Incase some just people don't get it, and where RR is coming from, read these:

I will never buy ANY game that does this schitt. Ubisoft can go to hell.

Ok, maybe it doesn't work properly, but I don't get what is the comparison with concentration camp and Evil Empire.

Nope, unfortunatley that is not the case - you own a license to use it as prescribed by the publisher and nothing more. What do think the license agreement is all about?
Hell the only way you can 'own' your software is to write it yourself.

But most likely, its working as designed. Ubisoft can go to hell. I won't buy from them again so long as they're using this draconian BS. There ARE other games publishers.

It´s never too late to renounce the dark side, Meo. Or is it?

In fact???

In fact will you ever go again in any store? or even in a gas station?, cuz they are ''watching'' you with cameras... thus ''treating'' you as a ''criminal'' as well.
