Why decide? Own both. Just remember that Winston Churchill sorted the whole controversy out 50 years ago: "Enemy submarines are to be called "U-boats." The term "submarine" is to be reserved for Allied underwater vessels. U-boats are those dastardly villains who sink our ships, while submarines are those gallant and noble craft which sink theirs."

I havn't played SH3 since I bought SH4. I think the overall game is just better. The graphics at 1920 x 1600 with everything set at max (except for one setting - I forget the name of it) doesn't hurt either.

Yup! Steamwake, with over 7000 posts, I would say u would qualify. :p

But well....by experts I meant everyone here who has been following the sim since SH3 and has played the game both as a fun 50% realism level ship destroyer party and as a nerve wracking submarine captain who had nothing but the periscope and sonar to take out their enemies.

The other beauty of the title is it makes everyone who contribute to the thread in answer to my concerns an expert. Something to look at when ppl like me who have just experienced SH3 want to venture and try out SH4.

With the combined experience of SteamWake and Warhawk... I would say you are definitely getting good advice.
