Too much freedom of expression and choice is not good for you, comrade. Imagine people would start ticking like the citizens of there. Plenty of bureaucrats, civil servants and dictators jobless overnight!

While the cultural history of Christianity certainly has had influence on America back then and today like it has had influence on the whole western civilisation as well, America indeed is no nation build on explicit principles of Christian religion, or basing on exclusively the Christian understanding of "God". Religious zealots claiming the opposite are either simply wrong when not knowing it better indeed, or are lying intentionally if they know it better for sure. The First Amendement explicitly restricts the lawmaker's options to serve or prefer the interests of any given religious institution, which includes the Christian churches and sects, obviously.

If even an atheist and anti-theist like me can live well with these american documents and not feeling challenged or opressed by them, you can feel safe about them. just the ignoration of these in later lawmaking, the distoritions added by campaigning sects and zealots - these are the religious things people like me are having problems with. What the United States were meant to be, and what it is today, and has turned into since half a century and longer ago - that are some very different things. Some changes were for the better. Some were for the worse.

Where do you get off telling a Muslim country that the United States does not consider itself a Christian country?

Founding Father John Adams did it back in 1797!

While I will agree that it may be too early to asses the full impact of the Oministration I urge you to compare where we are now to where we were 90 days ago.

Furthermore I urge you to review Mr. Obama's voting record in the senate (tip .. he was listed as the most liberal senator).

Furthermore lets not forget his past associations with the likes of William Heirs, Louis Ferrikan, Acorn, the ACLU and on and on.

Obama's general outlook does seem to be "Blame America first".

But hey all that is in the past, besides O is 'hawt' and that is what really matters.

Ayers, Farrakhan.

What associations did he have with Farrakhan?

Just friends and 'associates' is all. But Obama distances himself from these past associations now.

Like how he threw his former pastor under the bus.

Farrakhan, specifically. What association? What friendship?

You mean..today back on the world stage beeing taken seriously again and actually regaining some influence compared to a, 90 days ago, completly impotent Bush government who could not call anybody for support even if it were about life and death after 8 years of complete world alienation and a quonsequent never before seen loss of international authority in the history of the United States?

"Taken seriously again "

LOL all I saw was these despots making Obama their bitch.

So tell me where have we "Regained influence" ?

90 days ago my IRA was worth twice what it is now, 90 days ago my house was worth nearly twice what it is now, 90 days ago we werent in trillions upon trillions of debt, 90 days ago the stock market was still a viable investment.

90 days ago the phrase "Spend our way out of debt" would have seemed absurd.

Sorry, I am not Jesus, can't make blind ppl see if they insist on keeping their eyes shut. Else your question about influence would have answered itself at the G20 summit latest.

And, hmm, lemme remember. The financial crisis, eh? Didn't that came into beeing under another president, wasn't there even some fighting erupting between McCain and Obama about crisis management during the election period? Enlighten me, who was Obamas forerunner again, following a policy of building economy on debt? Did you seriously warp your own memories to this degree to fit your agenda?
