hey, this adds a lot of "pizazz" to the crew. Takes it from "roudy" to "disiplined"

You think wrong... The undershirt actually had the Reichsadler on the chest printed on not a patch.
great to know its authentic then, i can stop wondering now.

Hmm thats odd, and not likely. though if you had my old mod installed then Yes, or you are just refering to Hats and pants.

Typical Danish underestimation

It doesn't look bad at all...

About 50 hours I spent glued to monitor to crank out the textures weren't too bad either...

Default Problems with download

Is anyone having problems downloading the hi-res version for 1.5? I've tried about
10 times and it stops the download at around 3 percent. Had no problem downloading the regular version. I do have broadband and its working fine. Is there another download location available?

That's strange. I've tried about 20 times, made it up to 26 percent before the download stopped. I just downloaded a pretty hefty music file from filefront with no problem. Well, I guess I'll keep trying, might get lucky. Thanks for the reply.

I have spent COUNTLESS hours on the textures and I'd really like the mod to be as acurate as possible.
Enjoy!

You think wrong... The undershirt actually had the Reichsadler on the chest printed on not a patch. Here is the actual historical piece of the fabric:

Also as far as being "staunch nazi supporters" you are 100% right but I believe that these shirts were standard issues in the Kriegsmarine and had nothing to do with individual's ideology. But I might be wrong.... As I said earlier we strived for maximum historical accuracy and every small thing I have done with textures was (to certain extent) supported by historical documents.

Yep, that was bit complicated (I was myself getting lost in my own texture files and Photoshop layers :rotfl but worth it. Unfortunately that's why the download is about 80MB for low-res and (I think) over 300 MB for hires....
You might want to make another undershirt without the nazi symble on it for our German friends. I believe they can get in trouble if Im not mistaken, for having it in any form on there PC.

That is correct. The swastika is outlawed in Germany and Austria. I will get together with John and see what is his take on the issue. Most likely there's not gonna be "politically correct" version of the mod, though. Fellow subsimmers in Germany and Austria can always delete the "offending" files and then install the mod.

On a personal note (emphasis on 'personal' here, because this opinion in no way represents opinion of RUIM team): I do believe that outlawing swastika in Germany and Austria is ridiculous law anyway. I am NOT supporter of Nazi ideology but can't stand people who are trying to change the history. I have been living under totalitarian regime for 17 years and have seen it done too often... I do believe that if you use the symbol to keep historical accuracy it should be, by all means, allowed. People passing those laws are short sighted, because if you outlaw swastika you may as well do the same thing with sickle and hammer...
