P4 3 Ghz
2 GB RAM
800 Mhz FSB
S-ATA HD
Exactly the same specs here and 5-7 minutes....but i can do 6 espressi in that time...

no manual targeting possible after that...

Right then....

Here's the vital stats.
View these and then try to argue that the load times are unreasonable.

Stock 1.4b:
Air Units = 13
Sea Units = 49
U-Boats+Subs = 8
SCR Campaign = 19249 lines
RND Campaign = 402082 lines
LND Campaign = 11968 lines
Total = 433299

GWX 2.0:
Air Units = 40
Sea Units = 182
U-Boats+Subs = 24
SCR Campaign = 486859 lines
RND Campaign = 629050 lines
LND Campaign = 53925 lines
Total = 1169834 :rotfl:

Thats a 169.98% increase in campaign scripting alone. Don't forget, when you click START, all the items above are loaded each & every time into your PC's memory.

:hmm: Are you starting to understand why GWX takes a bit longer to load?

BBW's keyboard must be smoking!:rotfl:

Well don't get me wrong, I am not dissing GWX here. It is an awesome mod. I am merely expressing my own impatience...

Why not ask your wife or partner if they could find something for you to do around the place whiles your waiting. I feel sure that after they give you a job or two to do. You would never ever complain about the loading times again

Now I'm a coffee drinker.
I haul ground coffee into the house in the 55 gallon drum!
Drum-O-Coffee!!!
But some of you must be doing the intraveineuse feed
or doing shooters!!!

Heck!
You get that wired up and a minute car wash would be WAY to slow!

Put the coffee down and step away from the computer!!!
Don't make us Taser you!!!

GWX load times are unreasonable.

Any programmer worth his salt would have figured out a way to make my game load NOW! So I can play NOW! Also, GWX killed my cat!

Now, where did I put my copy of Silent Service???:p

You mispelled "intravenous" you!

Get it straight fer once!

For those wishing to reduce the loading times in GWX, I recommend total removal of the campaign files so all that data doesn't have to pass through the bottleneck.

Who needs a campaign anyway.

Meh! I say

Good things come to those who wait, or so I'm told

spoiled, I say

You young whippersnappers have it easy (really, you do!)

I had to beta test GWX on a 1ghz processor with 1gb memory, and not only did I have time for 2 cups of coffee, I had time to do the shopping too...

But did I complain.... no, no sir, I persisted, and loaded up the game, again and again, and got all the laundry done too, and the dishes, and, and...

and I ingested more coffee than can possibly have been good for me,

can't you tell?

Well in my current computer, its exactly 4 minutes to load the main screen and 7 minutes to load the carrer. I double click sh3.exe and go to the bathroom, comeback to my room and change my cloathes. The screen loads, I click load game or start patrol and go downstairs to prepare my dinner.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

That's just the way it is...
