It seems to me that Subsim.com is becoming far more popular (and much busier!) than ever before... Maybe double or triple volume in just two years?

Very cool I think!

Congrats to Neal Stevens and Co.
You will be happy to know since you have been away for a bit, no one complains and cries like children because their beloved subs and crew died after two patrols and the big bad warships are just too hard. They all have accepted the fact that in all reality it was tough out there and specifically in the later years with radar/fido/sonobouy etc. ALL HAVE BECOME HARDEND KALEUNS WITH BRAVE CREW WHO CAN NOW ELUDE THE DREADED WARSHIPS AND CONDUCT A TONNAGE WAR LIKE MEN!

THERE IS NO CRYING IN WAR!

But hey, Kpt. welcome back

:rotfl:Lehmann will be equally stressed out when he sees the lenght of a brand new thread dedicated to the volume of the forum.

I must say that this is the latest date I have survived until in a campaign. Dec 1941. It is going to be challenging in the near future from what i hear.

Its just the immersiveness of the game, the suspense etc.
I was assimilated, by a collegue at work, and I personally did it to another.
Resistance was futile.

But more important is this:
This board is like most (not all) fligsim forums. People here and for example at www.avsim.com are polite, patient and helpfull.
I think it has something to do with "being captains all together". Its a sort of honor code, a captain of a ship, or a plane, will never openly attack another captain. Because we are all virtual ''bosses'' or Kaleun's. We do it our way, and learn from each others stories.

FPS guys, are solists, thinking that their attack or approach is the best, and since they respawn within 20 seconds or so, can go all over again untill death.

We on the otherhand have a carreer of years, go over long distances and do our thing. Same for the flightsim guys (I am one of them). It takes tedious preparations to go from a to b as in real life, and Kaleuns between each other know that!. In other words, respect.

Anyone get my drift?

I think Johan here hit the nail on the head. Sure GW and GWX have played a part... but I think that's only scratching the surface. I think lots of things contributed to the big waves happening here.

Welcome back Dowly...hows life in the army?
The usual motley crew can still be found lurking in TS

Your right about the sudden upsurge in activity here...I put it down mainly to the GWX Syndrome (incureable)

Pop in on TS soon as you can mate
