Ah, you understand

I tell my wife I do not care for the types of programs she likes to watch and playing SH3 or any game for that matter is relaxing to me. I tell her that she should be happy that I'm in the house and not down the street at a bar checking out the scenery. Furthermore, I tell her it is my hobbie, I do not golf, surf, play pool, make models etc. My hobby and interests are in computer games.

What I really do to keep her happy and off my back is this: I do the laundry, I get to sit for hours playing SH3 as the loads go through. This works great on the weekends! Also, I take care of her business () regularly and she knows she is loved and feels sexy. My wife is like most women, if you show you care and are genuine to her interests, you can pretty much do what you want.

You need to make time to come back to reality and not play SH3 every night. Each needs equal time. If you sit and watch some crappy program with her one night this means the next night is yours for SH3. It is all about trade off!

Money saves me, I pay her off and she heads for the nearest shopping mall to buy a new dress or something. This will keep her quiet for a few days, she can even handle my alarms and all the yelling from the game...I hope she doesn't read this

But sometimes she wonders if she's about to marry a kid, maybe she's right?

This is like crew fatigue in SH3. Use SH3 Commander!

Rich's Rules for Female SH3 Intervention:

1. Defence of Honour - the ageold classic - stand tall and proud, and declare "I fight for your honour, my love, below the glorious seas of battle!"
2. Male Menstrual Cycle - Yes, we do have it, it just involves us sinking that ruddy transport ship. Issue an ultimatum - either you sink this ship, or you sulk.
3. Paying tribute - Tell the love of your life, "Darling, of the 40,000 German sailors that went to sea in U-Boats in World War 2, 30,000 never returned. Thats alot of death right there. This is how I remember them."
4. "I'm testing something" - You could also use the excuse: "I'm just seeing if this works."
5. "Its relaxing" - "But you're sweating and yelling at the screen, glancing at the ceiling!" "Shhhhhhhhhhhh - there be Tommies afoot" - this ploy will almost certainly get the insanity/sympathy combination

Hope these helped :P

I work around times when she's out with the girls or watching crap TV. The resot of the time I spend with her. Seems to be working so far. She kind of understands.

You could tell her that it could be worse: You could be obsessed with the movie "Brokeback Mountain" and incessantly talk about fishing with your buddy Jack.

Ok, so that's not a good idea. What would be nice is to tell her something like this:

"SH3 is a WWII German U-Boat simulation. Although the game is exciting, it is based upon real historical experiences. The reality is that the vast majority, something like 86% of the U-Boat sailors, are still out there in the cold oceans and seas around the world. When I play, I think about how lucky I am that I'm only playing this game rather than having lived during that time. It really gives me a greater appreciation for life in general, and specifically, just how incredibly fortunate I am to have someone as wonderful as you in my life."

One more hint - Do not, under any circumstances, mention that you could make her a nice looking "skin" on the computer.

however she keeps saying that I'm having an affair with my PC.
My ex used to tell me that. So I would play my games after I took care of her needs and she went to bed. That was ten years ago. Being single does have it's advantages. Though it does suck big time when the itch wants to be desperately scratched.

I have an idea. Sit down and watch the movie with her, then sit her down for a 2 hour long patrol to watch you play.

Hell, I still think im a 15 year old kid, when in actual fact I'm over double that.

Anyway, I leave the wife to watch her crud, and she leaves me to my more refined entertainment.
