Have a little problem after activating the latest mod list, my map tools seem "off". The lines or markings are not placed where I want to... anyone know a solution?

Edit: I don't use the patcher yet, may this be a problem? I just loaded the list and started it up. It seems to work ok, except for this off-center ruler thing which makes manual plotting impossible... Edit2: That's what it looks like: As you can see, the line is drawn way off the ruler... Which map tool mods are you using? Make sure that nothing will overwrite its version of Mouse.cfg

@ Nippelspanner
I have seen this before
You must be running one of the EQuaTool addons, aren't you? Right now I cant tell exactly which one it was that caused this but I'm sure it was one of the the EQuaTool 'Base' mods + one of the addons. Is there anyone else around who knows more about this? |

This surely makes sense to most mates around here and is probably quite simple but for a simple soul like myself I once again have to realize - I've come to that point where I've found myself so many times before, that one that's all too familiar to me and won't leave me alone, ever. I have to send a distress call. Again When I open the .cfg files of a certain set of tools up there are several values for multiple objects like Square, Compass, Course, Eraser, Highlight and so on. Then I open the various .tga files of each set of tools just to find most of them look the same... So - how to know which one of them values in the .cfg I should adjust to get the e.g. compass to move to a certain place where I want a it to sit on the map...? And - by how much...? But this maybe is a trial and error thing. Last edited by Silent Steel; 12-14-13 at 02:25 AM. |

Think of the XO/YO values in the cfg file as the horizontal/vertical offset of each tool's origin (from where lines start being drawn), respective to top left corner of its own texture. Let's say that we have a 512 x 512 pixels texture. Setting its offsets to 0,0, would mean that the origin will be located at the top left corner; 512,512, on turn, means "start drawing from the bottom right corner"; finally, 256,256 places the origin at the center of the texture (note that this is not necessarily the exact crosshair's center, but it should get close) |

@ Silent Steel:
one last note: don't introduce new semicolons in Mouse.cfg. In the said file, semicolons are not used for marking comment strings, but for denoting a range of "active" pixels (only useful for pointers). |
