Hello guy's. Great job you have done with SH 5. I gave up that game 8 months ago, but now it looks like it will be brought back to life again. A big thanks to all you great modders out there.

Listen, J-squared, I just want to tell you that you owe me $30 and that my family now hates you, and here's why: If it hadn't been for you and your hilarious Let's Plays giving me not only much entertainment but, more importantly, a great preview of what the tireless modders of this community have done to make this sim excellent, I'd have still been going "nah, I still have my old trusty SHIII and I'll be damned if I'll be going through all of that again just to get the latest version."

Also, my family might actually get to see me occasionally instead of having to endure yet another several months of me whistling old German tunes from the 30s and muttering to myself in German which, around these parts, simply isn't done.

So thanks a pants load, J-squared, you ruined my life!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll be adjusting my mod soup again for a bit and setting out for yet another patrol of the North Sea.

Seriously, though, you've done great with those videos.

Hab das Forum Durchforstet nur keinen Threat gefunden wo man mal nen Lob Ausschreiben kann.
Daher mach ick es mal hier .
Bin nun schon seiht einigen Jahren SH Fan und bin immer wieder Erstaunt was die Modbastler so alles auf die Beine stellen um Silent Hunter noch nen stück Besser zumachen.
Ubi sollte so manch einen Moduser einstellen, diese User hams drauf .
Dank an die Modbastler für eure Zeit die Ihr hergebt und wünsche weiterhin viel Spaß am Zaubern von Mod's !!!!!!!!!!

It's quite boring to watch people play without manual targeting because there's no challenge to such a style. I wish there were more people who posted videos of themselves playing as realistically as possible (for example all difficulty sliders on except external camera to show off some nice explosions). It could also serve to teach the newcomers some useful lessons.

Watching someone point a periscope at a ship, press fire and then magically achieve a big explosion is not all that interesting.

I agree.
The same is also true for manual targeting with the deck-gun. I will never understand why people using the dumb AI instead of just manual targeting.
