Hmm?
Someone should start modeling a torpedo to resemble such a thing I believe, or maybe there are depth limitations for a torpedo... but with very limited handling capabilities

The stories I have read on this "Kite"...which there are other posts in here about it...think even someone had one going at one time, are that when deployed, and say an enemy plane got near the pilot would be cut loose and end up swimming. At the risk of loosing a U-boat over the Kite Id choose not to deploy it...

I read in Hitler's Grey Wolves: U-Boats in the Indian Ocean there was only one instance in which the Bachstelze was used successfully to intercept & destroy a merchant.
