As none of you seem to know, the dev team behind Fast Attack, Software Sorcery, had reformed as Crusader Studios and announced a sequel to Fast Attack. I received some early marketing material and posted a couple news items, and mentioned it in an editorial...before Akula: Red Hunter submerged and never resurfaced. Too bad, Fast Attack was great and I really was looking forward to Akula.

Wow, Dowly, you just earned yourself quite a distinction!

Truly a shame it never came to completion. Those guys had some great approaches to subsim gameplay. Considering how authentic the systems in Fast Attack were (or looked), you only can wonder how great a Akula would have been.

I remember following this game back in the day. I was REALLY looking forward to it and then the plug was pulled. Bummed me out completely.
