I managed to dig up some older version of the mod, which btw never existed as a single mod, since it was integrated with GWX. As I remembered, it was not only the basic.cfg file but also all sensors files (.dat, .sim, .val, zon), the menu files (english and german), the equip_1 and _2.cfg files, and of course all playable sub .eqp files. In order to single-it-out, you could try to use the files from the latest version of GWX, but sucess is not guaranteed, since many GWX files are interconnected.

These sensors (at least one of them IIRC) were probably on the UBI low priority list and were never implemented properly. Since part of the solution was hardcoded, I tested extensively a viable and user friendly method of using them in the game (and adding some sensors too). The result was incorporated in GWX. Actually it was one of the last mods integrated before release. I played a lot in late war, so these sensors have proven valuable, keeping my Kaleun and his crew alive.

Cheers,

Von

VonHelsching, I'd be most appreciative if you could provide what files you do have. It would make an excellent starting point for puzzling out the changes currently used in GWX.

Perhaps it would also allow for creating a standalone version that could be kept updated and useful for some time to come for all the super-mods.

I'm glad you've popped back up on the radar and given the advice and support you have.

Default XXI/snorkle mounted RWR

First and foremost, I'm no modder, but I have operable snorkle mounted RWR beginning in Jan 44'.

I have been using three boats, VIIC 41, IXD2, and XXI with the snorkle mounted RWR unit for quite some time. I only play from Jan 44' onwards though. It was a struggle to figure it all out, bits and pieces, here and there but it works. My primary boat is the XXI.

The files I modified (for my personal game are loaded via JSGME) are the following: My JSGME folder contains the Data folder, inside of the Data folder is the Config folder, the Config folder contains my Basic CFG, Flotilla CFG, Sensors CFG,
Sim CFG.

Also inside of the Data folder is my Menu folder, it contains an empty CFG folder. A Menu folder inside of the empty CFG folder contains an equip_1 CFG file and equip_2 CFG file.

The last folder is the Submarine folder. Inside of the submarine folder I have an NNS_Uboat21 folder. It contains a NSS_Uboat21 CFG file, an NSS_Uboat 21.EQP file and a NSS_21 Uboat21.SNS file.

I've tried using this JSGME loaded files with both GWX2.1 and NYGM 3.0. Seems to work. One issue is after several patrols, I don't get sent to a particular patrol area, but I can live with that. The Flotilla CFG file gives me access to the XXI from 2-3 bases, but again, I can live with that.

I don't know whether or not my modifications break anything in GWX2.1 or NYGM 3.0, but so far so good. My main purpose was to have the snorkle mounted RWR from Jan 44' onwards.

If there is interest in acquiring my modified files, and one of you has a down loading capability filefront-other, I can send the files to you and you can host them for others.

I'd be happy to host those files on my FF account, silentwayIII.

I figure the more we all share what we learn, the better the mods and community will be!

Your own RWR mod will certainly make plenty of people happy and eager to try it with other super-mods.

Beyond the Shadows also does file-hosting for the SH3 mod community. You can sign up there for a place to host your mods.

Graf Paper, do you have SilentwayIII's files hosted at Filefront ? I'd like to get hold of them myself if I can.

Thanks for any help.
