Played it quite a bit yesterday. After being annoyed by the squad commands at first I have actually grown comfortable with it. It is nice to set a base of fire and just have the maneuver team follow me around. It is a nice distraction from WWIIOL, which in my book is still king of the hill for WWII games.
I love the storyline so far. This is very entertaining, and worth the purchase price in my opinion. @Dowly I will give authentic a try. I like the challenge of realism. |

I found it boring after a few missions. Hate the solo raids, and absolutely HATE the tank bits. Good weapon feeling, though.

I thought it was great personally, I know what you mean about the boring bit, though I found it more repetetive than boring as such, but it kept me interested enough to keep playing.

@Stabiz
Yeh, I didnt like the solo raids nor the tank bits that much either. @TheBrauerHour Just to warn you, there's no crosshair on the authentic level, which makes it really hard to hit anything by popping out of cover. I hope they come up with somekind of fix for that. But eventho it was abit repeative after awhile, the story sucked me in and kept going till the end... twice. |

I dont think so. They dont spawn endlessly at the same spot, but they do spawn whenever you have walked a few metres. There is no suspense, you always know what happens next. If there was more walking involved it might be a surprise from now and then. But its better than CoD, no doubt.

you walk a few hundred meters, Enemy spawn you complete a Objective - what a surprise I hear a truck at the sudden. you completed a Objective after cleared the whole big Villa and you rescued prisoners..- Just get your gun loaded mister...shouting outside and footsteps comming towards you..Yep, they are storming the Villa...I wouldn't have expected that in 100 years ![]() Meh...After played some MOH:AA (and MOH:PA) and COD + UO I never bought another WW2 shooter and I tried the first BIA on the PS2, well it had nothing new that the game really offered, PA had command strings too to control your unit not as advanced as BIA but still...Dramatic Heroics, Hollywood shoot'em up with Hot action all the time campaign. Also this Heroic squadron thingy that always goes on in the games, its overdone and in every title its the same stuff going on...just buggles my mind...I never ever could have thought that my squadron of 5 - 7 men could clear a whole village crawling with Germans. And yes, its possible for me with perhaps 2 guys supporting me wiping clean a castle and blow up a heavily fortified Coastal Gun bunker that is packed with germans. still whats the point of those squad units anyway in many cases I'm the bloody Bullet magnet...the others sometimes get hit, kneel down stand up again and continue firing like nothing ever happend. All in all....play 1 and you've almost seen the whole WW2 shooter package. dont get me wrong thought I've enjoyed MOH:AA, COD + UO and BIA (first one). the first games of the series where good, the expansions and sequels is something I didnt came near of and lucky I didnt after trying some in the Cyber Café they where really bad in most cases. I have to say that I've never much liked the BIA series. It's as close to reality about as much as plastic toy soldiers are. I hate the cover system, how ridiculously inaccurate your weapons are, how the game purposely makes it impossible to hit enemies behind cover (Even when they are half exposed), the endlessly spawning enemies, the endless amount of ammo your squad has (seriously is there a line of trucks following right behind to keep those guys in ammo? They tear through ammo at an obscene rate), etc.
Now of course all the other ww2 shooters are about as realistic as BIA, but I found them to be considerably more fun. I didn't have to flank every single time and I could you know, actually hit something. |
