Thanks for all facts guys.

Ran the sim yesterday without Alt-Tabbing => Works like a dream.

The reason I use to halt and Alt-Tab was when I had the PDF-version of the IJN Recognition maual up on the screen.

Have it now nicely in print and making my calculations w pen & paper instead.

Cheers

try this on for size:

in SH3, remember that whenever you alt tabbed out of the game while in a 2d view (map, crew management, etc) and you alt tabbed back to the game, the maps within the control room would invariably be some weird collection of tv-malfunction-kind of lines?

no? well it always happened on my rig. but i could prevent that (and fix it) by alt tabbing out and back while in the control room

I just tried that on SH4 1.5 and so far, it works. Alt tabbing does not give me the bug as long as I'm in a 3D interior view and have the game running in real time

so for anyone who is familiar with the bug, please try to confirm this by taskswitching from the control room (or any other 3d view, i guess) without pausing the game or going to the 'esc' menu

havent seen the bug since, more testing required

(sorry if it has already been noticed long ago)

I alt-tab all the time with GWX 2.1 all the time with never a problem.

I always pause the game first.

As a matter of fact I'm doing it right now.

Had to check online tv guide and to drop in here.

(alt tabbing in SH3 was never a problem except it gives me some weird graphics which are easily solved by another alt tab. pausing or not doesnt matter afaik, all I said is that doing it from the control room prevents any issues)

SH4: I can confirm that alt tabbing does not result in the watchcrew on deck/CO2 bugs, provided that I am in the control room at 1x when I hit alt+tab

doing it for two days now, haven't seen the bug since.

alt tabbing while paused or from most other views always gets me the bug

so there you go

Ahh, so glad I found this thread. I think everything is still current, GWX 3.1 doesn't crash or have any issues when alt-tabbing and TMO is fine if you're in the command room at 1x speed.
