Frankly I do not like the tone of your post.

#1 what does Israel have to do with anything. They stand just as much of a chance of being outright attacked whoever gets elected.

#2 An "October Surprise" is the most expected event in election history. Osama was not caught in October of 2004.

#3 McCain lost the foreign policy edge long ago. The only "fear" remaining is that somehow Obama is a black Muslim that plans to hand over the white house to Iran or somthin.

How would another 9/11-scale attack on American soil guarantee a Republican victory? If anything this would utterly crush any remaining faith in the current Republican administration; for all those lives lost, billions spent, and people tortured, America would be no safer than it was seven years ago.

Don't be silly.

American's view democrats as weak on foreign policy in general. People have gotten over 9-11. Just looked at Rudy 9-11 Guiliani's failed campaign. He said 9-11 every other word to try to get elected. That fear has worn off. A fresh scare would get the masses scared and in line with the right.

A new 9-11 would have a good impact on the republicans, they could go "see, we aren't safe! the war on terror is far from over". Fear works. Me and you know we have a better chance of getting hit by lightning than getting killed by a terrorist, however Joe Sixpack would be out back digging a bunker if there was another "attack". I think the whole terrorist scare is right out of a George Orwell novel. Let's face it, McDonald's and automobiles kill more Americans than the terrorists could ever dream. The patriot act took more freedom from American's than could be taken in 1,000 terror attacks.

I don't think that about the Democrats. I just don't like what the democrats have become. These are not the FDR type Democrats anymore. It seems like they've gone off the deepend with a socialist elitist attitude, as opposed to being the kind of folks who meant to do good in the public sector.

And trust me, I think the Republicons are off the scale too. They have followed suit with every deregulation that came down the line, (both are actually just as guilty), but instaed of fighting deregulation they let it prosper and grow. Because of it, our trade relations worldwide are screwed. It has allowed the industrial heart of our once great nation move to other countries where labor can be had for a slave's wage. And all this got it's start in the early 60s right after Johnson took the reins.

A good book on the current situation is here: http://books.google.com/books?id=r0Q...um=4&ct=result

Even though it is older now, after reading it, the predictions made by the authors, and where we are as a country now is pretty close to what they did predict. But it clearly shows how both are just as guilty.

Well, considering that a war-hungry Republican administration has done wonderful things for Al-Qaeda et al, they'll be doing all they can to get McCain in.

But I think the most that may happen is a video release from a high-up.
