I'm always a fan of eating the spiciest food I can when I'm stuffed up. Get some 4 alarm chili going.

I don't profess to know a cure, but whether it be a cold or man flu it's always my sinuses that block up and prevent me from sleeping.
I take Sudafed, it's a decongestant nasal spray and it clears the blockage every time. I also eat a lot of hot and spicy Indian and Chinese foods whether I have the symptoms or not....which I believe helps me ![]() |

My grandfather used to drink Cognac when he got a cold. Theoretically, the strong vapours help liberating yoru nose, plus the effect of alcohol relaxing you and reducing your sensitivity to pain helps. My wife mixes a bit of cognac with milk and an aspirine
![]() I asked my grandfather long ago wether the remedy was effective and he replied: "Well, it doesn't take the cold away but helps you forget about it. And if I drink enough I even forget your grandmother, which is another positive side-effect" ![]()

Ugh, I used get these things all the time. Still recovering from one, in fact.
Traditional treatment: lots of fluids, sleep like a sloth, and try to do something to make yourself sweat. The crap in the nasal passages is the worst part. Oh, and try to get in a mile-or-so run if possible (after the worst of the symptoms have passed). Works wonders for temporary decongesting.

Just got over mine... very similar symptoms. I recommend lots of Vitamin C, Echinacea tea and Tylenol PM (contains a antihistamine to dry out the nasal passages) and lets you sleep more soundly.
Hope you feel better soon. ![]()
