There is something v.wrong with your PC's or your installs.
This rig: 3.4ghz P4 1GB Ram X800 Pro Will load GWX save files in about 6 mins and that's with the combined campaign enabled. How many active processes do you have running? What's your 'at rest' available RAM? What's your pagefile size? Where is your install located? Default operating partition, c:? or other?

![]() ![]() When i still had xp and only 1.5 gigs using a 2ndairy HD for virtual ram i noticed that during the loading procedures of WAC which requires 2.34GB RAM the game accessed this extra HD to perhaps load or write parts of game from/to there. Last edited by nirwana; 10-01-08 at 03:08 PM. |

mm, yes, my specs are similar to Danlisa and the game takes about a fat five mins to load. I have had troubles and delayed loading in the past - but nothing like as long as 42 mins ( gosh!). I too think the system might need an overhaul. Does event viewer give you any clues I wonder?

You have a sure point about Norton. It is a huge system hog.
AVG (and it's even available absolutely Free!), is the only way to go! ![]() AVG is clean, fast, comprehensive, and very update responsive. And you can't go wrong with CCleaner, for the other end of things. |

Have you tried JK Defrag? I have it on my 2 machines & I find that it works much better than the built-in Windows defragmenter. It's available here: http://kessels.com/JkDefrag/index.html if you're interested.
