My my.... what a disturbing display.
![]() I feel bad for Palin, I imagine she was probably quite uncomfortable during that. Still, the religious right is an important demographic, and she is wise to court their vote. As I have said, many times before, Palin was a masterstroke by McCain. What I see currently is the Dems scrambling to destroy her credibility and rapport with swing voters. They may yet manage it, but I seriously doubt it. Time and time again I see people making the mistake of believing that McCain-Palin's electability is somehow based on credentials. That isn't the case at all. Victor in presidential election 2008: McCain-Palin Just wait and see ![]() Meanwhile, I shall join my fellow Libertarians in plotting our eventual overthrow and whining about how no one pays attention to us. ![]()

there is a big problem in all that. On the video, I heared and read about this thing before. Next they will have Voodoo showacts close to polling stations, I suppose, and will influence the poutcome by black (parodn: white) magic. Do american calenders in offices and appartments really show the year 2008 - or are they missing one zero? P.S. I hereby declare that the term "white magic" was not meant to be discriminating against blacks.

That is part of reason I'm such an extremist anti-government advocate. I don't suppose that politics will ever really change. It will always have some distorion and deceit about it. Since politicians can be liars and frauds, I think the best way to handle government is to limit how much damage it can do by as much as possible. Step 1) Eliminate every function of government that is not vital to the survival of the state. Step 2) Amend the constitution to restrict government power on taxation, (preferably providing for a flat income tax on private citizens only) subsidies, spending, and whatever else they might screw up. I admit I haven't given a great deal of thought to what amendments I would like to see, but they would follow along these lines, more or less. My thinking is that once properly neutered, the Federal government can't screw everything up on such an epic scale, so there isn't a lot of harm when a bad apple gets into Washington. I'm sure the states will be more than happy to make up for the loss of legislation, which gives people a choice. Want more government and social welfare? Move to California or New York or something. Enjoy the astronomical living costs and taxes. Want less government? Move to Texas or Alaska or something. Enjoy the Big Business politics and environmental exploitation. States with wrong-headed policies will suffer and have to change, while those that do strike the proper balance will prosper. Competition is good for government, too. That's my two cents.
