Welcome Aboard Dr.
Hang in there and we will get you up and running. After you do what von Zelda and danlisa suggest; if you still can't load, try deleting the movie files from Ubisoft\SilentHunter\data\Movies\Intro folder. I have XPpro sp3 and K-lite codex pack, but the only way I can get the game to start is to delete both these files.

Hey Irish,
since they are approx. 70mb in size, will SH3 load quicker without these files?

And the game will play without these files?

A) I don't know. You can test it using SH3CMDR 3.1 by disabling them and then timing.
B) The game plays fine without these files.

Default GWX expansion problem solved!

Hi Everybody!

Thank you very much for your help!.
The problem was solved by disabling the Codec packs.
Is there a GWX 2.1 fix?

The GWX expansion is certainly a must!

Most sincerely,
Ricardo Reischel

Bigboywilly has a combined fix for GWX 2.1, which you can get at the GWX website.
