My sig is mine..

The unfortunate name of my Granddad's sub, lost with all hands to friendly fire. HMS Unbeaten

Shame SH3 doesn't have playable Brit subs.

The saddest part is the way the truth was / needed to be handled. Her loss was reported as unknown, (friendly-fire screw-ups were not reported for reasons of morale) and the truth only came out in the mid 90's, i believe, 50 years later, when many war secrets became public. My father was obviously very upset and exceedingly angry with 'Germans' through out his childhood, and spent many years coming to terms with that and 'forgiving' them.. only to learn it was his own beloved side that did the dirty deed. He found that very hard.

Anyway.. on with the nice pics & thanks for the links.

This is completely unbelievable and unacceptable!
War heros passed over in silence to avoid having to admit a cruel mistake.

Really stupid and it makes us realize that in wartime, we are only very small pawns in the hands of great players ...

I don't know if your father is still alive but if so, send him my friendships.

All side in a war had and still have this issue. Propaganda is a powerful tool.
