Have you ever seen that interview with airforce pilot Robin Olds regarding SAM attacks. He basically said that if you relied on the gadgets to detect the SAMs, you were going to get shot down. Sounds like the same case here. I'm too cheap to buy that stuff, use your brain, use a map.

I see two amazing things here.

1) These people are, like, descendants of the Donner party. Seriously. Wierd.

2) As dumb as they might have been for getting themselves in a situation like this, the military can be even dumber. I won't bore you with war stories about PSN-11's and BlueForceTracker systems, but trust me, they can be worse.

They are about as smart as the guy that followed his GPS on to the train tracks.

We have alot of this down here also.

The Morons head into the Angeles National Forest dressed like their going for a day at the beach.

Not even smart enough to carry a bottle of water and a few energy bars.

They get lost and cost us taxpayers thousands of dollars to rescue them.

I remember getting buzzed by a British Army Lynx, looking for lost hikers. You;d be surprised at how quickly weather can close in, even low on the mountains.
