no map contacts

im playing RFB and RSRDC and i get NO map contacts. Used to, I got many alerts for convoys and task forces ( although they were hard to find) but now i get none !!! I just go out and hunt without any imput. Is that the way the program is suposed to work. I am never notified of any ship traffic.

I think this comes under the general assumption that being bored to tears for long peroids equates to being realistic.

Maybe so ... maybe so...but I prefer a little more action in my subsim. I only have limited time each day to devote to patroling and don't propose to use it up watching grass grow...even if that was "the way it really was".

Having said that... You will probably be told to head for the heavy traffic areas to find contacts. Probably sound advise.

Pay attention to the "ultra" messages that come in. Those ships are really there. (RSRD) Sometimes your not in position but sometimes you are.

whats an ultra message,,, never got one and im in post-battle of midway.
where do they come from and how? voice? text? what ???????????????

They come in text. "New Message Received" You will receive it from your command and they will address location of suspected traffic.
