What i aim to do to my PC

Dual boot OS

* ubuntu linux for Office/Internet browsing/Apps/email

* XP/Vista for gaming nothing else not even email. Nothing!

Can't go wrong... Well it will minimise the errors

For the moment 99% of the applications I use under windows xp are freeware open source so I would have no problem jumping over *nix. The other 2 programs (2 multimedia encyclopedias) are windows specific and they work without problems in virtualised windows 98 so one less problem to deal with.
What really makes me stay for the moment in xp is the ability to run Orbiter and Dangerous Waters.
The day DW and Orbiter will work with *nix is the day I ditch XP from my pc forever.

I hate the freaking persistent security system that's suddenly been added to my Windows copy by some update. Every time I open an image using Windows Explorer it tells me the picture is from an unknown source and "might be useful, but might also FUBAR your computer". I uncheck the "always tell me this" checkbox... and get the same window again, the next time I open an image.

You have been Windows Vistafied, repent (By reinstalling XP), and you might survive

You will be Vistafied, resistance is futile.
