Perhaps Wake was added later?
The Battle of Wake Island is not accurately represented in RSRDC. There are some IJN units that are in the general area of Wake during the “second” attempt to invade Wake in late Dec 1941.
OK, thanks for confirming. Not really a big surprise since Wake happened so early in the war. This has been the first time in any career that I have been able to get out of Pearl and into a good position early enough to maybe 'Change History'.

Maybe 'someone' out there will develop an early war/Wake Island 'War Patrol' or 'Single Mission'. Perhaps one already exists, and I just haven't found it. Comments? Suggestions? Just for curious, How accurate is RSRDC for the Philippines area in Dec., '41?

I've also been doing some research on 'who was where' on Dec 7, 1941. I was pleasently surprised to find out that we had a pretty substantial submarine force already in place at both Pearl and Manila. Good thing the Japs concentrated on Capitol Ships, and pretty much left the sub force alone as 'not worth the trouble'. I've only worked up as far as the Salmon Class boats, but here is a short breakdown:

Manila/Philippines Theater:
4-S-Boats
6-Porpose Class (2 refitting Cavite)
5-Salmon Class (1 refitting Cavite, 1 'on patrol')

Pearl Harbor:
0-S-Boats
2-'V' Boats (Barracuda and Argonaut)
1-Narwhal Class (Narwhal was docked at Pearl, the Nautilus was refitting San Diego)
Dolphin (a 'V-7' boat) was docked Pearl, and was one of the first units to start firing back.
3-Porpoise Class (Plunger was docked, Pollack and Pompano were en route, arrived Pearl on 9 Dec.)

I haven't worked on the Tambor or Mackerel Class boats yet. The first Gato Class boat was not commissioned until 31 Dec., 1941, so there weren't any Gatos available.

Concerning the Battle of Midway:
I did manage to get into the vicinity of the battle, and was able to act as a spectator on the external camera. Pretty exciting! Unfortunatly, I was never able to get into a good shooting position (I was commanding the Narwhal at the time). Thanks to whomever got the battle graphics together for Midway. Better than the movie!!
