Lorient Base??

I nice touch is the sound of the bells chiming on the bouys rolling in the waves as you exit or enter the estuary. I only noticed this at Lorient, though I am sure they must be near other bases as well.

I do the the "to within 30 clicks & hit Esc" if I had an unsatisfactory patrol but sometimes I just want to "show off in front of the girls"

so I take the boat in all the way.

Bah making a plot course and sailing at 1 knots does happen the same..

No problem navigating, but yes, it is a pain. Not quite sure why they stuck the pier way back where they did. The actual bunker pens are much closer to the harbor inlet.
