There was a time when people found temp. work to get enough money for something
they needed instead of leaching of the government and my taxes.

There is not a single place in the UK where you can't find someone willing to pay you
for something so not having a car is no excuse. Get a S***ty job to get the cash for a
decent job!

Benefits should be for necessities, driving lessons / new cars, etc.

It's a bit rich to criticize your country for not giving you cash you haven't earned.

Tell me about it! There's tons of metal workshops here where I live and anywhere I ask they say "You need more experience". Well how the frick I'm gonna get it if everyone hires only 'experienced' workers!? Tossers! Dont come calling me when the "veterans" retire and you have nobody left except the 'unexperienced' workers.

The same ole song.

To get a job you need experience
To get experience you need a job

You would think that someone would be willing to hire someone and give them the experience.

I guess employers are afraid that if they hire someone with no experience and give them experience, the now experienced worker will leave them for a better position.

Can't really blame them though.

Still it does stynk.

All this talk about the not being enough jobs. What a load of tosh. The Army is well undermaned and has many different jobs to offer .

Yup, there's the army, or if you are in an urban area you can always get jobs by
knocking on doors. If your in the country then every large farm will hire you for
wild-barley of whatever is going.

Even if it means you are cleaning someones house, there is usually a better way then
trying to leach of everyone else's income by claiming benefits.

hehe, you make it sound like he's dick turpin or something.

As Kapitan is only 19, the experience of the jobcentre will be a valuable one on many levels.
The law says he's entitled to it, and so he is.
Whatever he gets out of the government whilst signing on is nothing compared to what he'll end up paying out in income tax and all of the other taxes we have here.
I can appreciate his desire to learn to drive... unless you live within sensible walking/cycling distance of work it's pretty much the only way.
I suppose he could always catch a bus... LMFAO :rotfl:

And I think the criticism is directed to the poor standard of efficiency commonly associated with most benefits departments. Lets face it; if he were really scraping the bottom he'd be stuffed after 5 weeks with nothing to live on. It doesn't matter who's tax goes to pay for it in the end, and it is nothing to decry simply because some people choose not to accept what is available to them by law.
Besides, he won't be able to stay on the dole indefinitely; he'll end up as slave labour to some government community scheme run by a third party contractor who gets a big fat government subsidy for each 'new deal candidate' to make sure he doesn't get a decent job. I know for a fact that this is how many of these companies operate and profit from their involvement with places like the jobcentre. It's these ****er's who are wasting everyone's taxes and everyone's time.

I'm sure that's fine for some, but comes with the very real possibility of ending up dead, and all for a pitifully small salary as a n00b. You'd be better off financially to take what is offered in the way of state help for a short term, then get a decent job with better prospects than being a squaddie.
As I said before, he'll pay more in tax in the long-term than he ever will get in the way of state handouts.

Hey jim, mate of mind is moving out of London as he can no longer keep up with the rising cost of living, he's planning to move up north if he can sell his house.

Not yet on bread and water but eating a lot of brown rice. And yet the teenage whore near me is up the duff for the third time and whooping it up on benefits. She and her fellow sluts knock back coffee at £2 a cup in the coffee shop and I'm not talking Starbucks here. She gloats about all the money she gets and loves talking about how nice the benifit office treats her well, she makes me sick to my stomach.

I can empathise a little with you there

Some of the twunts around here aren't deterred about fines because they know whilst they're on state benefits they are only expected to pay 10p/week and if they default on the payments, the courts drop them further because there's no room in the prisons and the nicks can't take em because of the passing trade, especially on weekends

They will keep pumping them out, women two streets away is in her mid 20's and she has got another one on the way. This will make number seven on it's way, totally irresponsible. Smokes like a chimney and a party animal from what I hear, and no government has the bottle to do anything about it.

Teenage girls today are taking the system for a ride, highest level of teenage mothers in Europe and moving fast up the world ranking as well!

That's the point at which they register with the system and jump on the gravy train and pepetuate the drain on the welfare system.

My wife and I both work full time, with two hours each day traveling back and forth to work. We watch as train and petrol prices rise, food goes up and we get nothing from the government. Yet When I see public housing residence get cable tv installed (from there own pocket, not the government....yet!) and see many of them push the next pram load of welfare collectors around, you have to wonder.

I've finnished my rant, so I'll go back to normal posting!

First of all, back off. I paid into the system when I was working before moving here. Furthermore, this money IS being used for driving lessons. You think I want to live off of fricken Jobseekers Allowance the rest of my days?

And the army? Why not tell everyone who's struggling to find work to go signup, Letum?

Well, if the daily MAil is to be believed (and I must admit it generally isn't) if you were to come here as an immigrant they'd give you a car and pay for driving lessons or at least drive without a licence or insurance. Don't make me go provide links
