Thanks for the recommendations, fellas; I installed PM 1.03, everything went okay, and we're off! It's great being back in those dangerous waters again.
As a tip to those who might be installing the SubSim Hi-Res kit, and are doing so on Vista, be sure to do the following: 1. Accept not only the Hi-Res (1024) checkbox but the PM fix as well *as long as you have installed the above PM 1.03*. 2. I found once 1024 was installed that I had to change the main program's executable (SH2.exe) to Win98 compatibility mode. Otherwise the cursor in the 3D screen became so hair-trigger I could barely use it. Setting the executable to Win98 compatibility made this problem go away. Smecty |

As far as multiplayer goes, UBI's servers were never the place to play. Onkel Neal's other subsite, the Sub Club http://subclub.info/wpl/ with it's Wolfpack League and Eagle Leage was the place to be. We had some great times there. These days they're doing SH3, and I'm not interested in co-op games, but there are still some interesting people who only hang out there.

Probably the most fun I had with SH2 was using PM and a LAN connection to a friend with Destroyer Command. If you can find a copy of DC and have a friend, give it a try. I'm still hoping for a new version of DC.
