I had the same thing happening to me with "CRYSIS" . After trying with all on "LOW" and "MEDIUM" (i couldn't see where i was standing etc...etc...)
Before i wanted to give up ...i putted all at "HIGH" and BINGOOOOO !! It worked perfectly   I'm no PC guru at all and still don't understand the logic behind this ..but it worked for me . (i have a 8800GTS) greetz
