New SH4 player, what mods do you guys recommend?

I just bought and installed it for the first time and see a daunting list of seemingly excellent mods... but I have no idea whcih ones work with each other or which ones I should install.

I don't need like super realism since I'm a brand new SH player but I know the original game has lots of problems and would like to have the funnest possible gaming experience.

I highly recommend you play the unmodded version for a bit. Get an idea were you might want to go with the mods. Make sure you patch the game to 1.4.

Excellent advice. Then, if you install a mod or two and it screws something up later, you'll be able to describe the problem more effectively...

Be sure to use JSGME when trying out different mods.

Oh, welcome aboard. Also, if you did not get the add on... please do. I has the uboats. Not sure if you are interested in the uboats but it is there for you and the modders are working over this as well as the fleet.

One more thing:

Please don't get too frustrated while dealing with some of the bugs in the game. Just send out a post and I promise you a fix is out there. Not only that, but folks here will talk you through it.
