One of the problems of the computer interface....When on time compression, it is absurdly easy to die suddenly by running into islands and other bits of things that make you run aground...Because apparently even on time comp, you don't stop in time.
Um. Yeah. A nice warning and stopping of time compression when last waypoint has been reached would be nice. Later, we might try...not letting you plot courses through land? |

You can set your time compression to drop to a certain level when near land...

Open up your SH4 folder in My Documents, and open up main.cfg. You want to adjust the line that says LandProximity.

Penta, I feel your pain. I did the same thing. I zoomed in on the map and my navigation line went right over a tiny island. My crew said nothing.

Is there a way to define how close to "land" the landproximity kicks in? Often it doesnt kick in soon enough. If we could increas what "proximity" distance it engages, we would solve the problem. Anyone know how?

Yes if you look in My documents/SH4/ there is a document ( I think it's "main.cfg"? controling how much timecompression is alowed, f.ex. you can set the timecompression to slow down to "x1" with "Landproximity=1", then the TC will drop to 1 instead of 8 when near land.

BTW I have allso tried running on ground on a very small island, which I could'nt see on the nav-map so it seems the engine has a little problem with small islands.
