Targeting "assisted" by the Weapons Officer?

If tried to use the automated targeting but I keep missing more torpedo’s then on manual. But on the other hand if I use automatic targeting in the American campaign I can make impossible shots. I don’t understand is their a bug or something that doesn’t allow me the make auto shots in the German campaign?

Please don't use black font color some people use the default background Stghardass.
