I have to agree with that sentiment. Knowing the real history is much better than just playing a game. But I came from the opposite direction: I was already reading the history, and I play the game because of it.
On the other hand, I do use SH3 Gen, but set to a fairly low level. I'm not so interested in finding out where everything is on the SH3 map as I am in having it be wrong.:rotfl: I only use it once, right after starting a patrol, and I pretend I have just opened my safe and looked at my secret orders. Wonderful toy.

me too...
it all started when a friend of my mom needed to get rid of his Aeroplane magazine collection... Suddenly i found myself surrounded by some 5k pages on aeroplanes and their history, boy of 10 that i was. fantastic.  been a bookworm ever since.   Plastic models and PC simming were developments of it... real life? whats that?

ah you mean the area where it smells so good... hmm, i think they call it "fresh air" or something.
i do not really remember, and do not care much either...
