3:20? That's the Director's cut. The Uncut version is 4 hours 52 minutes. If you haven't seen it you haven't really seen Das Boot.
I've had a copy for three years now, which is why I don't get excited when they put it on television. I can watch it anytime, and do...usually once a month.
