Stay to the speed limit (not to fast or slow), Don't ride on someones bumper and indicate before make a change lane or direction.

Also: Kapitan_Phillips won't let me drive him around when he comes! He says he doesn't trust new drivers. Is this stupid? y/n?

He should trust you! Tell him he's a passanger or he's walking!

Best of luck with the test!

If any cars get in your way.. just push them out of the way !!!
Remember... always remember to use the right finger when flipping off the driver in front of you !!
Before going out for a drive, research interesting four letter words to "enhance" the "effectiveness" of that finger. Practice in front of a mirror.
When doing the above, make sure you state these words at the top of your lungs. (whispering makes them lose their "effectiveness" while driving)
Be sure to watch out for other aircraft when you're driving.
When you're driving with Kapitan Phillips, be totally silent and then SCREAM AS LOUD AS YOU CAN randomly durring the drive.
Speedbumps=airborn=fun
airborn+stationary object=not fun
airborn+police car=probation or jail time=fun or not fun depending on your tastes and fetishes

drive with two bloody hands, unless you are shifting. keep your eyes on the road unless checking the mirrors.

maintain tactical awareness of the sides of the road and other vehicles.

that is about all there is too it.

driving a car is just that, but it can kill you very quickly if you drive too fast, get drunk and drive, or not respect the fact you are operating a machine that is just as happy to mangle your soft flesh as it is to operate perfectly as a very useful modern tool.

I make that sound horrible, which seems odd, given my love of vehicles (I own four Mustangs) but they are what they are.

It infuriates me to no end to have some young person run up behind me all the while chatting away on the phone and checking themselves in the mirror.

One big thing I'd suggest is that anytime you meet a car, and you are unsure what they're going to do, always assume that they're going to pull the worst move possible, in which case be ready to react to stay safe.

Don't drive with the radio playing loudly in an unfilmilar area ...

Tap the brakes lightly if someone is following too close and then speed up (they will hit you if you brake too hard)

Check all fluid levels ... be wise yuri or you will run out of oil, power steering fluid, brake fluid, water, air, spare tire, gas even ...

Stop for all stop signs till you get the hang of just taking a quick look (we all do it)

One lesson I learned in Los Angles was to never be the first car to leave when the light changes from red to green ...
there is always another car or two and sometimes three cars running what they think is a yellow.

Make sure you always know where your drivers license, insurance, current registeration, make model and vin number is at.

Purse, pocket, visor or glove box ...

Flashlight, blanket, pillow, extra bottle of water, energy bar, book to read in case of a road block, flood, ice storm, traffic jam ...

Purchase two cheap sets of common tools at a discount auto supply ... Why?

So you can just give one away if someone needs help along life's highway and you can be on your way knowing you tried your best to help.

No hitchhikers means no hitchhikers no matter how innocent they look ...

That's all ... now if I could just get my children to listen to me ...
