He didnt sink Great Britain... he surfaced off the white cliffs of Dover and, with his entire crew on the top deck they commenced choir practice until the entire island nation submerged in retreat from the dreadful sound. :rotfl:

Geez, what's with all the "Brag haters"?

He's understandably proud of being a published author and "advertises" his work in his sig the same as others "advertise" their mod sites and forums for work in which they also have taken great pride.

Go do something to be proud of and then maybe you'd understand instead of debasing your heart with childish quibbling.

As for Balz, I do recall he is indeed a Kaleun commanding a u-boat from Silent Hunter III which does make it relevant to post his adventures here the same as the many other u-boat stories that grace these threads. Other stories such as "The Laughing Swordfish" come to mind.

If all we were allowed to do is discuss the game itself and its historical comparisons, things would get dull very quickly.

But you same folks that are knocking on Brag would likely find reason to bitch about that as well.

Perhaps you're taking your in-game roles as soldiers in WWII Germany a bit too close to heart. Your whinging is its own type of fascism.

I will always welcome a bit of nuttiness and entertaining laughs interspersed among the cries for help from newbies and the hardcore debates about historical accuracy or game mechanics.

Keep posting, Brag!

I don't hate him at all. I love Balz; he's hilarious. And I don't mind seeing the book plugged in his sig. I was just irritated at the threads that suddenly seemed to pop up on every single forum; I thought it was overkill. After reading Neal's review I even plan to get the book and read it.

I doubt Umfuld hates him either. He felt slighted by what he percieved as unfair treatment. I argued with him, and after hearing his side, I feel badly. On the other hand, I can understand why his post was moved, in spite of his request - it does seem to be unrelated; but even saying that I could be wrong.

I completely agree. I'd be hypocritical not to, considering some of my replies to his posts.:rotfl:

You should check out my website and read up on tips on how to quibble.

You know, even though you came here and posted your question here, and there are dozens of people here at all times waiting to help you and talk about quibbling with you ... go to my website instead.

There's been others to post in other threads lately that have been down on Brag and especially his book sig.

Brag asked for and got the admin's blessing before he posted about the release of his novel.

I appreciate your attempt at sarcasm, Umfuld, but it does only come across as more sour grapes born of bitter feelings rather than real substance.

And you should have taken the hint...read the posting rules.

By the way...the topic of this thread is about Balz and your thoughts on this fictional kaleun.

On Topic:

I'm still wondering when Balz will post his thoughts on just exactly what constitutes the ephemeral nature of hoochie-woochie!

I've never heard the story about choir practice sinking Britian, but I've heard rumors that a lovestruck whale now follows Balz's boat everywhere. :p
