Can you ask Neal why he sanitized his download thread where I just made a straightforward announcement that SecuROM is back? Doesn't SUBSIM think it should properly inform its members? I've seen threads closed with some pretty offensive stuff left for all to see. I've never seen anything actually deleted before. Why was my post and replies to my post all deleted when I made a mere announcement without prejudice?

I recommend you PM with that question.

Found!

Neal was just in the middle of surgery. He actually moved the material to a thread of its own entitled "Sony." That's even better than leaving it on his stickied thread, except that it will eventually die a horrible death as we find other things to talk about. I would have picked another title: "SecuROM, It's...... A MONSTER!!!" or "Revenge of SecuROM" or "SecuROM ate my underwear": something like that. How about "Sony's SecuROM Sucks!" Waxing poetical there.

To Danlisa:
Nice directions! Very concise!! I'm in the IT field where detailed directions are a standard! I'll be saving that to a txt file for potential future use!!

You might need to load the hive offline to get rid of the actual keys by the way. Securerom is notorious for loading what your computer thinks is corrupted keys so that you cannot modify them and replay games that have 30 day trials for example.

THere are also some apps that may be able to get rid of the keys, but I have never used them. I've seen one or two listed however at some time in the past, but can't remember their names. You need a reg cleaner that fixes corruption - that should do the trick.

Just my little tidbits to throw into the ring.

PS. If you load the hive offline and have MCE 2005, set the legacy 2004 bit to 1 so that you can connect to a domain if you feel the need.
