In all honesty what is $10? since when can you buy an addon/expansion for under 20 or even 30 dollars anyway. I just bought and downloaded the addon, I will not install it till Kriller here gets ROW working and I do not have to worry about an imploding sub . hehe

I will happily buy the add-on and install it when the mods are complient though I'll probably never play a U-Boat campaign. I bought SH4 because it was fleetboats and I truly love the sim.

I hope in the future that there will be an add-on to play British or Dutch subs in the Atlantic but I'm afraid that will be a long way off as the U-Boats will take center stage.

I read and appreciate Elanaibas post and I understand completly the financial aspect but I can't help but feel like the Allied side will be forgotten in the series, hopefully I'm wrong. It's a great game and I hope we get to enjoy it for a long time.

BTW, I would love to be able to control a surface ship in the Atlantic and blow the U-Boats out of the ocean!

My concern is not about do I have to pay for a update but more to the line of how will it effect multiplay? I read somewhere, maybe in the readme, that the versions have to be the same to connect and if so, then a 1.4 will not connect to a 1.5 or other way around. Will the 1.5 player be able to play with the 1.4 players? Does adding the U-boot add-on kill any chance of multiplay with none add-on players? As if multiplay is not hard enough as it is.

Does this mean there will be no free patch?
We all know there are still bugs in 1.4. Obvious bugs, like the connign tower dial bug just for example. There was never a official patch for this...that's a very weak support.

I've seen the Addon on shelf today...for 14,95€...that equals 22,45$.

In fact I'm now waiting for a update or patch for this addon before I considering to buy it.

Just a lesson that years of gaming taught me.

Its $10 bucks man , come on . I am not interested to play the nazis at this stage again after SH3 but the other stuff for the pacific campaign is more than worth it . Too many new little and big things to mention here .

I'm certain that I will never play the U-Boat but I am buying the patch tomorrow to support Elanaiba and the Dev team... and wait to install it when the mods I like catch up.

A mission or two in my GATO class in the Atlantic to sink something German - (Axis powers) - or a photo mission in the Med would make my day... lol

Happy Hunting!

I bought it... If for no other reason than to mod the new files , keep up with development and honor Dave's memory and contribution.

Soon as I can replace the new 1.5 splash screen the better...

DOH!!

Got me there!!
:rotfl:
Although Nancy would say I'm married to Ubi's Evil SH series.

:hmm:
perhaps I could divorce Ubi and win?
Seems like there has to be a shady Lawyer somewhere that would take the case?

Yes, sir, the splash and menu screens can be replaced by content from the good ole USA. (OK, is CaptainCox from the USA?). Oh well.

CaptainCox's Silent Service 1.2 Graphics Mod works great! Goodbye U-Boat! Hello US Pacific war!

Then you can layer Dowly's Pearl Harbor Menu on top of that and be greeted at appropriate times in the menu process by black and white photos of the devastation at Pearl and hear President Roosevelt's declaration of war.

Ah, proper perspective is restored for those of you who primarily or only like the fleet subs.

I'm having a blast with my U-Boat though. It's like driving a Model A Ford after stepping out of a Packard Limo. Like tent camping after a night at the Hilton. Like leaving the cockpit of a P-51 Mustang and flying a Spad XIII. It's quaint, but effective.
