Same as Blacklight mentioned, I usually have my scope down when this seems too occur.

i was wondering- i play gwx 2.0 with no map contact updates - i'm happy about the uncertainty, but i still would like to see my sinkings plotted. Anyone know how to achieve this without full map contact updates?

It could be that unless you visually inspect the sinking, there's no mark made on the map for some reason.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
It's certainly true that when no wreck/grey wreck icons have appeared, I've had the scope down for a lot of time. Thaum |

Seafarer is correct. You will also get the grey marker when a ship runs it self aground or suffers a fatal collision.
