First, someone please translate £300ish.
![]() I use a VisionTek 1300 256/ddr2 AGP card (ati). On a 939 system. Seems ok except when zoomed on concentrated fires then frame rate kills. So, I avoid that in my scope now. You can drop you particle density and not tax the card with AA. But in the end unless you have an 'industrial strength' wallet - deal with the eye candy or not.

Holy Crapp I spent about $40 on a used card, if you have that kind of silly money for a video card you should be on newegg.com not here.

Well if I'm gonna replace it then i might as well buy one worth having and that wont be obslete inside of 3 months.
I think the problem is overheating as it gets very jerky when theres a lot going on on screen and then every now and then the damn thing just reboots itself for no reason! |

Last year I went for the 8800 GTS (320 mb). It runs SH4 perfectly. The card is a budget version of the fullblown 8800. Might be worth a look? I'm very happy with it.
I bought mine from the pricefighter Club3d.

I've just built myself a new system: Intel Q6600Go CPU, 2Gb RAM. And the GPU?: a Radeon X1950Pro, the 512Mb version. This setup eats SH3 for breakfast (tho i dont have SH4). It plays HL2, CoH really smooth at entirely respectable settings. The gpu cost me about £90, overclocking it is a piece of p**s, and i am a very happy pc gamer.
If you seriously are gonna spend £300, i think u should be able to pick up an nvidia 8800gtx for around that these days. however, you may wanna consider getting a recent 8800gt, which only cost around £160ish. the 8800gts was until the last coupla months the flavour of the month in terms of bang for buck, but it has been superceded by the aformentioned 8800gt (acoording to pcg magazine (uk), anyway). id recommend buying yourself a magazine or 2 with "hardware top tens" style features |
