Vielen dank, latemail!
![]() Ich spreche kein deutsch but I have made a rough english translation of your tutorial by using language translation software. You tutorial posted with the SH4 map tools mod is very well done and I'm looking forward to your future posts. Perhaps this thread here can become the english version for modders to post their tutorials and findings and allow the title to be changed from "SH3 Modding Bible?" to "SH3 Modding Classroom".:hmm: Come on, OLC and Mikhayl! Post some of your own tutorials. I assure you there is at least one very eager student here. ![]()

Twice the work of what, OLC?
No matter who does the translating, the english versions would have to be posted somewhere so why not here? I figured this could be a good start. That way, some willing person can also translate english tutorials here into german for latemail's home forum if anyone so desires. If you or anyone else decides it is better to add to the ubi.de forums, then go right ahead and do so but not everyone that has SH3 modding knowledge to share can write in languages other than english. Ideally, it would be a great thing if we had volunteers translating information and documents for SH3 into any language for the benefit of all Kaleus but, in reality, that would probably work as effectively as the United Nations. ![]() That's too bad, really, as some of the mod ideas from eastern europe and certain asian countries are very intriguing, based on the few scraps I've gleaned using web page translation tools. If anyone wishes to share, then by all means make your posts and let the classes begin! ![]()

![]() ![]() But while writing the tutorial I do a lot of testing - not only for the screenshots - so I hopefully get some fundamental informations, which will help me to understand the single functions .......... to get results not only by try-and-error ![]() and I will often visit the subsim-forum and this thread, where I already get some very good help (someone knows what I mean ![]() ![]() and I like the imagination of a classroom : I will pick up all hints, tips and questions posted here - my english is already good enough for reading/following the discussions - and I will add them to the tutorial with examples and solution ....... Here's a suggestion folks..We at WaW have started a "Wiki" to store most of the info that is needed to operate...and I'm positive something like that would be ideal for what you're proposing here...
Not sure if you have to register to view it, but even so, its worth a look...to see if it's something you could use for this mission...(which I think is an excellant idea by the way!) http://wolvesatwar.org/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page That way you won't have to filter thru all the "fluff" of off topic chatter that always seems to materialize. |

Ive never set one up, but the way I understand it..there is an overall manager of the Wiki...and he/she decides who has access to add data...(anybody can view it though)..
Obviously, you don't want inaccurate info to be posted, so before it actually gets entered, you'll want somebody that really knows their stuff...to clear what gets on and what don't. This is from the software writers website explaining the basics..(hope I don't get busted here for posting advertisements...that is not the intention MediaWiki is a free software wiki package originally written for Wikipedia. It is now used by several other projects of the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation and by many other wikis, including this website, the home of MediaWiki. Use the links below to explore the basic site contents. You'll find some content translated into other languages, but the primary reference language for the whole site is English. For general questions dealing with the software see the recommended possibilities of communication and maybe our support desk. If you have a suggestion dealing with this wiki, please visit the Forum. |
