I had the same thing happen this morning - rammed by an escort I didn't see coming - destroyed both periscopes, radio antenna and flak gun on my VIIB.
I had to limp back to port with 12 torpedos remaining. Worst of all, the escort sank from the ramming, but I didn't get credit for the "kill". I guess destroyer suicide doesn't count! ![]()

I got run over by a DD in the Scapa Flow mission the other day. He wiped out my deck gun, but apparently lost his engines in the process. He didn't sink, but he didn't give me any more trouble either. A lucky shot with a magnetic trigger took the stern off of the other nearby DD so I got away without too much trouble. The annoying part was that the Revenge just settled on the shallow bottom without going under so I only got credit for 1000t.
