One of the big problems is that a part of the texture is used on several parts of the ship.

Foo,

I really like the skins you made here. I had originally gotten the porpoise class that is excellent. Currently I'm testing a mod for RFB. I have to use either the Gato or Balao class for the mod. There was no way I was leaving port in the rust bucket stock skins.

I loaded up the Gato and Balao skins. Quite nice! I imagine this is how they looked because these were new boats straight out of the yards. Fresh paint and looking smart

Here is a website that you may find interesting regarding USN camo schemes for WWII - the link is for the submarines but it covers the entire USN including correct FS Numbers, who had what when.
