I got Torpedo Junction by Homer Hickham to read (he of October Sky/Rocket Boys fame). Obviously not written by a U-boat captain, but might make for interesting reading from the other side.

Cool, I've read his 3 semi-biographies about his childhood in Coalwood, which I enjoyed. I'm not due back at work until the 7th of Jan, so this should give plenty of time
