Your turning into a SP pro. I truely think you should forward your skills and come over to the dark side and play MP - join a clan and play on there private servers that way you wont get called a noob or cheat when you own the same guy in every map but your get the respect you deserve Your suit skills would have many wanting you in there clan for backup and frontline attack - Crysis Needs You!

Nice Vids!

Nice shot.

I wonder how Crysis compares to COD4?

Crysis certainly looks way better if one has the rig for it. I'm in about half way of the game and the story is average, IMO. Cant tell how the latter part of the game is. :hmm:

We will put it this way - The game changes about 2/3rds the way through. I'd like to spoil the story for you, but figured I'd better not, at least not till its been out for a while. I'll just say this, the Navy...

I found COD4 SP great it's like the previous cod games - "fast" action extreme, Im yet to play the SP of crysis so can't say which is better. The sniper rifle in COD4 works well theres a sniper mission where you and another sniper have to take out the enemy while waiting for the heli to arrive - when you fire that sniper rifle man i could feel those bullets connecting with their heads COD4 SP is a bit on the short side though.

Theres a gamers made patch for crysis for old PC's limit AMD 2400, 2gigs ram 6600 or ATI 9600 rigs where this patch will enable the game to run in high to very high on older rigs. Ive haven't tried it as no need to with main PC but might if i ever install the game on the older one.

Screenshot of what he reckons he can get from an old PC

Have you ever wanted to enjoy every single vista- exclusive directX 10 effect
on your \"oldfashioned\" and \"outdated\" xp systems? Well, here\'s your chance!
Don\'t believe me? Look at the screenshots then - where\'s the difference?

Installation:
Start the .exe file and select \"apply patch\" under main options menu.
In case you don\'t like the patch, just remove it later by selecting
\"remove patch\" from the same menu.

If your game installation path differs from default, simply enter
the correct path into the \"enter directory path\" popup dialog as
soon as it shows up.
Problem i find it is still using Shader Module 3.0, not 4.0. Its impossible to force Dx10 API on a system with Dx9 software, let alone pre-dx10 hardware. It may look pretty, but its not true dx10 shaders.

I dont know if your allowed to put up rapidshare links in here anyone want to try it out PM me

k - Give me time here. I've finially made stage 6 play nice with my system - I can still use Xvid to do my encodings, and Stage 6 likes them now for some reason - probably because I never used any non Divx compatible Xvid settings for the encodings. You get less quality on the encoding, but the vid still looks good. With Xvid, I have full control over the compression ratio's of the I / P / B frames - something I don't like to give up.

I'll repost that town attack vid in a minute. Still uploading. This time you get full FPS and full detail (barely noticeable compression blocks, but I had to put a cap on the file size so I cut the file size into 1/2 what it originally was).

PS. Kiwi - use some Very High settings on DX9 - works fine if you can handle it.

I'm sorry if this seems a bit off-topic , but I had to ask...especially since Crysis seems so cool.

At what settings will my rig be able to run Crysis? Here are the specifications :

AMD Athlon 64 3500+
2GB DDR RAM (PC3200)
Nvidia Geforce 8500GT

It will run it, but don't expect to push its graphical boundaries. You really need an 8800 GT or higher end ATI to get the most out of it.

I have pretty much identical rig, expect I have the GF8800 and I can run it on medium settings to get decent FPS, ~20 or slightly over it.
