As for the all-grey contacts, I recommend going a step further and using the Assisted Plotting Mod. It comes built in with RUB, but the readme is so comprehensive it's easy to extract just those files. It gives you no contacts at all until you lock onto and identify a target, then that icon alone shows up, and it's grey.

Much more realistic. On the other hand, I only recommend this because I don't know where to find the 'All-Grey' mod either.

More hardcore than anything, of course, is to turn the 'Map Contact Updates' off.
