It looks like a reflection vs. particles problem, never suffered it though.

The jagged border you see is probably the distorted reflection/refraction of the ship, there are numerous ships (even stock ones) that have reflection problems, but I never seen them popping thru the shipwake.

Thanks for the replies!

I have also tried the following: Fresh reinstall of the sh3 plus mod, Removed nvidia graphic drivers and reinstalled them, and updated pretty much every driver on the machine. But I'm still seeing the problem.

I played around with the graphic setting but they didn't make any noticeable change. So in the end I left all the defaults for the nvidia graphics control panel. AA and the like are all set to default application controlled.

I did notice that problem happends more frequently when it's a clear sunny day with hardly any wind. I do not see it ever when it's storming. Also, I seem to have a problem with the moon and sun, if I look for a time they also have spurts of distortion.

However, I have not tried reinstalling DirectX, I will give this a go

It just annoys me that I spent a ton of cash for the 8800 Ultra and have display problem. I love this game and the addition of all these mod has made it outstanding, I may just have to ignore the problem.

What Nvidia settings are you using? You should be able to max out with that system.

My settings are at

Anisotropic filtering 8x
Antialiasing settings 4x
Antialiasing transparency MultiS.
Texture Filtering Anisotropic mip filter ON
Texture Filtering Anisoftropic Sample ON
Texture Filtering Negatvie LOD bias Clamp
Texture Filerting Quality High Performance
Texture filtering trilinear opt. off
Triple buffering off
Vertical sync User application "on for SH3"

I have a feeble system compared to yours.

Basics;
Intel 3.2GHz-D HT 800MHz
Intel D865PERLX
2Gigs ram OCZ titanium Duals
XFX 7600GT AGP 256m
Sound blaster Elite X-Fi
LG-L204WT 20.1 wide LCD at 1680x1050

Do a search on my name and see my quality pics as proof.
Frames average about 37 to 45 and harbours sometimes hicups.

Its possible that your system even though highend, its components don't like each other. or it could be a firmware issue. You can check for the latest firmware for your Motherboard and Video card.

Anyhow Goodluck.

Wolfehunter-

I will need to check out my nvidia settings when I get home. But I'm almost positive that they are all set to the default that nvidia install with. I believe it's application controlled for most options. :hmm:

I did a search for your name and found some really nice quality pictures. What resolution are you currently running for Sh3?

My mb bios is up to date, but I will have to check on the firmware on my video card.

Many thanks for the help

Setting your VC to more of a performance side you may see jagged edges while leaning to the quality side setting would give you a more rounded look..improve the smoothness hope thats simple enough...

In my advanced settings it has many game applications already preset...SHIII happens to be one of em...perhaps looking in advanced may give a better clue
