You mean where they are in the SH4 folders ?

They are the T0?.dds files in the respective maps..
Sargo skin.. data/submarine/NSS_Sargo
T01 is early war, T02 is late war.

For a Taiho class carier..
data/Sea/NCV_Taiho T01.dds is hi-res file, T01_lr.dds is low res version.

Hope this helps..

You can use this program to convert the dds files

(download link on the bottom)

Start in the "data" directory and work your way down... you'll find 'em...

.dds files are used throughout SH4... By the way you may need to enable "show file extension for known files" in the Windows Explorer... it's under TOOLS->FOLDER OPTIONS->VIEW Uncheck the "Hide Extensions for known file types" box...

Hmm, ok... under your SH4 root directory, do you have a directory called "data"?

Welcome miner1436,

Are you using a FooSkin and JSGME?

Once you get the file open: you can always take a short cut and do a search of your SH4 folder for: "NSS_BalaoTower_T01.dds" ( just substitute the Sub class )

You will also need a DDS plugin for photoshop if that is what you are using, when it is time to save your final texture. Also, to keep the size down when sharing with others, save your psd files 'outside' of your Sub's:
\Data\Textures\TNormal\tex\NSS_BalaoTower_T01.dds

Cheers,

Those are in your personal directory. You won't find .dds files there... You need to look in the directory that SH4 was installed into on your hard drive...

I'm assuming your SH4 is installed on your C:\ drive... right? probably under C:\Program Files\Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific or some such...

Look in that directory under \data\sea\<SHIP NAME> for .dds files OR...

...use the Search function in the Windows Explorer and search for a file called JPFish01_T01.dds (those are 'zeros' not capital "O"s...)

i personnaly just don't get it also... :hmm:
Use the brutal option lol where did you installed SH4? if it's C: for example do a search in windows for any *.dds files in this drive. Of course it's not the fastest solution, but you MUST end up with some dds files pointing from your SH4 directory. Then you'll now where they are i can't think of something else...
I run XP so i don't know for the vista thing, as for now, i hate this thing lol. I'll go get it when DirectX 10 will be unavoidable, because it's the only good feature... well at least, that's because you don't have a choice if you wanna use it lol
